Variety is the Spice of Life! The FireChoir is loaded with the spice of variety starting with an American director leading a Dutch choir.
One of our new members surprised us by telling us
she is 74 so she has the honor of being our senior member. She doesn't look a
day over 60! Marcel from Australia brings his 12 year old daughter to rehearsal
so she is our youngest "member." We have students from the nearby university and
others who emigrated to the Netherlands from Africa, the Caribbean, Russia, and Indonesia.
Most live in the Amsterdam area but some travel as much as 40 miles to get to
rehearsal from as far away as Rotterdam and Hilversum (the Hollywood of
Holland). But all are united in their love for the music and singing, and a
desire to be a part of something special.
